Was awakened by the ringing of my hp. My father called to notify me of his arrival in Mel and to arrange our meeting. 10.30am at Rendezvous Hotel along Flinders St. Had a quick toast and milo brekky then made my way to the city.
"knock, knock"... The door opened and I was first greeted with the splendid decor of room and its majestic ceiling height. And of course... my father. A big welcome hug and another one on behalf of my mother. I can't remember what was our opening conversation.
I watched tv in his bedroom while he was using his comp outside. Eyes felt weary from my insufficient sleep. Still, it can't be compared to my dad's 1 hr of sleep. Left the hotel at 11.30am and walked to Little Bourke St (chinatown area) for our tim sum lunch. Chatted quite alot during lunch. Actually, it was mostly me sharing my stories.
So full and satisfied from lunch. We took a taxi from hotel to my appartment becuz dad was lugging 2 heavy luggages with him. All of my stuff - printer, clothes, accessories etc. I would have wished that I could give me a tour of my appartment, but the only rooms that I have to show him are my main room (aka bedroom, dining room, study room) and toilet, which I'm immensely proud of. Equivalent to a hotel's toilet if I would say.
Took him for a walk to sch to let him have a look at the neighbourhood. Gave him a mini tour of my sch too. Afterthat, I left to attend my Comm Law tut while he made his way back on his own. During Comm Law tut, I found it hard to focus. The fact that my father is actually in my room still couldn't sink in. Finally the long 1 hr passed and I was so eager to make my way back home.
When I reached home, he had unpacked my stuff and set up the printer for me. I took a rest and a shower while I left him to play his stock market. So addicted. He rather plays the stock market than sleep. He claimed that the shares up in an upward trend now, so must grab all opportunities. BLah...
Finally, around 6.45am, we left for the city. We took the tram and the train. It was the first time for him. I bought his tickets and explained briefly Mel transport system. Haha, feels gd to be in control.
Left for Crown for steak dinner. And I made a v gungho decision. I was just going to wear my long sleeve turtle neck. One layer. At night. 11 degrees. Well, it was cold, but still v bearable. 'Cooling' is the way I would like to perceive it. Dinner was great! I had a Porterhouse steak with chips. Even the salad was tasty. So delicious...
Then, the highlight of the night - gambling at the Crown Casino. That night was the first time I entered into a casino. It was huge. There were so many tables and pple crowding around the tables. The croupiers were really skilled. Fast, yet graceful.
Dad played the roulette and I just watched. He also told me to place bets on any numbers I like. Starting from a capital of $30, we cashed out with $68. I told him I wanted to try the Chinese game - Big/Small. Haha, so he gave me two $5 chips. I squeezed and pushed my way to place my chips on the table - on 2 pts and 4 pts. I had a 50-50 chance of winning. And how unlucky can I get - 1, 3 and 5 appeared on the dice. Faintz....
Well, that is gambling for u. I told him I wanted to try some cocktail drink. So he brought me to the bar on the ground floor. I ordered a Sunrise Tequila while he ordered a plain beer. If u're wondering did I dropped drunk and had to be carried back by my dad, no, i didn't.
By the time we returned to the hotel, it was 11pm plus. Watched tv and flipped thru my Comm law textbook while my dad was fiddling with his comp. Both of us were sleepy by then, so we slept around 1am. He took his bedroom while I slept on the long couch outside in the living room, which was surprisingly comfortable too.
