Sakura Buffet!!!

Attended a staff lunch held at Sakura (Downtown East) today. Purpose of lunch was to say bye to the pple leaving (myself and Ling Xiu) and to welcome a new teacher joining the team. This was the first time I was in any staff event, mainly becuz working as an administrator has been my first ever job.Food and price were reasonable ($20 nett per person for lunch).I attacked the sashimi first. To me, it's an appetizer. Either soup or tat. Personally, I feel that sashimi should be the first dish cuz it's best to have 'clear' tastebuds to really savour the freshness of the chilled raw fish meat. The following plate was mainly chilled scallops and baked mussels. Totally skipped the ordinary chinese cooked food. I prefer to have stuff that I rarely get a chance to eat. My colleagues even tot that I love eating seafood.
Of course later on, there were the teppanyaki dishes like chicken and shishamo (I prefer to call it pregnant fish though). Last dish of my main course was again, seafood -prawns. Prawns are forever the last dish cuz I find it the most effort-consuming. A few of my colleagues were slightly amazed by how I could shell prawns using knife and fork. Hee. But I wasn't that skilled la. Still have room for improvement.
Last course of the meal - desserts. The cakes were so-so.
I was full after lunch, but not bloated. Very sure there was still enough space for more. Luckily I didn't gorge myself. Or else it's an even longer time on the treadmill (so boring...) Worse, my colleagues would think that I'm a pig.
There wasn't much chance for everyone to mingle abt. It'll take more than just this lunch for everyone to reach that stage where there's no wall of awkwardness dividing us. Still, being able to be in the company of nice colleagues outside work was great. Plus, tmr will be my last day. Gotta treasure the remaining time I have left with them.
